The Basics

How does the Gwynnie Bee system work?

What is the difference between a guest, a member and a subscriber?
A guest of Gwynnie Bee can view and browse our site to become familiar with our service. A Gwynnie Bee member is someone who has subscribed and is either on a 30 day free trial or is currently a paying member.


What happens if I want to keep something for a while? Is there a due date for my garments? How long can I keep it?
While you are a member of Gwynnie Bee, you are welcome to keep any item as long as you want.


What if I want to buy something I found through Gwynnie Bee?
If you’d like to buy a piece, simply email Gwynnie@gwynniebee.com. Our buyer will get back to you with the price and facilitate the purchase if you decide to go ahead with it. If you have the piece at home, we can charge the credit card we have on file. If you’ve already returned the garment to us, we will ship it back to you, and we pay for the shipping charges.


How do I exchange pieces?
Simply put the items you want to return to Gwynnie Bee into the poly bags provided. Then, drop it off with a UPS driver, at a UPS store, or in a UPS drop box.


How frequently can I switch out items?
As frequently as you'd like! Whenever you are ready to send items back, simply go into your closet and click on the little black and yellow truck and let us know which pieces you are sending back, and when. As long as you are at your closet minimum, this will trigger your next shipment.


Am I wearing clothes that other people have worn?
Technically, yes, since Gwynnie Bee's pieces are shared among our members. However, we are meticulous with our collection. We keep all of the garments we offer in top shape, putting each one through a thorough cleaning and 3 rounds of inspection. Each package is also hand-packed, so we can be sure the clothing you choose reaches you in Gwynnie Bee-approved condition: ready to wear and looking fabulous!


How does Gwynnie Bee choose what clothing is added to the collection?
Gwynnie Bee seeks input from her members and friends on her choices, and you can share your opinions in a few ways:


Is this for plus-size women only?
For the moment, Gwynnie Bee only offers items in sizes 10 and up. More sizes will be added as quickly as possible, however, since our goal is to empower all women by providing easy access to a fun, new, and stylish wardrobe.

How am I billed?
Your credit card will be billed automatically on a monthly basis. The date will be consistent with the day of the month you first become a Gwynnie Bee member.


Where is the lock icon on your billing page? Is your billing secure?
Rest assured that we take security seriously and that your information is safe when as you subscribe for our service. Today we use Braintree, a third party vendor, to handle our payment processing and the transmission of data does indeed happen in a secure way. You do not see the typically browser level security signs (https://, lock) because we are not storing the data on our site. On the bottom of the credit card entry page you will see a secure logo from Braintree as well as an explanation of their compliance with security standards.


How does the free trial work?
It's easy. Subscribe as you normally would. Throughout the process, you should see the promotion that you qualify for. Your credit card is necessary to send you the first package and billing will begin once the trial period ends, but will NOT be charged until the day after your 30 day free trial ends.


What if I want to cancel?
As always, we're sad to see any member leave us, but canceling is quite easy. Click on your name in the middle of the page. This will bring you to your account page. Once there, go to the Membership Details section and click the link that says, “cancel membership”. Cancellations are effective immediately and are not pro-rated. If you are within your free trial period, your credit card will not be billed.


Gwynnie Bee reserves the right to charge customers for garments that are not returned. To prevent further charges, please return all garments to Gwynnie Bee within 7 days of cancellation.


Am I eligible for more than one free trial?
Sorry, each customer is only eligible for one free trial. However, if you'd like to earn credits towards your monthly subscriptions, ask us about our refer-a-friend program.


Closeting

Do I need to closet a certain number of items to receive my first package, or to keep packages coming?
Yes, you need to place the minimum amount (depending on your plan) into your virtual closet before your first Gwynnie Bee package can be shipped. As garments are sent to you, don't forget to browse through our growing selection and add more pieces to your closet. We launch new collections every two weeks!


How do I know when items are on their way?
Check the "At Home" section of your closet. When you hover over the garments, you can see the shipped date.


Shipping and Returns

How long will it take my first package to reach me?
Packages are shipped via USPS Priority Mail and should arrive in 2 to 4 days, depending on the destination address.


How long will it take to receive new pieces when I want to swap?
You should receive a new package within 3 to 5 days after using the return notification feature or physically returning a package to Gwynnie Bee.


Who pays for shipping?
Shipping both ways is free.


Cleaning

What are your cleaning standards?
Gwynnie Bee takes the best care of every garment in the collection. Each piece is cleaned thoroughly and inspected 3 times, and every item is hand-packed so that it reaches you in Gwynnie Bee-approved condition.


What if I want to wash something?
Gwynnie Bee treats our clothing with the utmost care, and we ask that you do, too. We're happy to take care of all of the cleaning, but should you choose to clean a garment, please refer to the tag that was attached to the garment when you received it. Most items should either be washed on a gentle cycle in cold water, or dry cleaned.


What happens if I damage something?
Such is life! Clothing gets snagged, spills find shirts, and hems fall out. It's completely expected, so just be sure to give Gwynnie Bee a heads up so we can either ensure the item gets fixed or retire it from circulation.


What does Gwynnie Bee do with the clothes that are taken out of circulation?
If a garment is retired from the collection due to light wear and tear, but is still in good condition, we donate it to a local charity.


Referrals and Affiliate Programs

I have a friend that would like Gwynnie Bee. Do you have a referral program?
Yes. We'd love for you to refer your friends and by doing so, you'll get a chance to earn yourself a free month of service.


How does it work?
You can refer your friends in one of two ways:
Use your very own personalized referral link.
If you haven't received yours, just ask and we'll send you one. Then you can share it ANYWHERE and EVERYWHERE. When your friends click on your personal link, we'll be able to track them as your referral. Share the 30 day free trial with your friends to encourage them to try the service.
Use the refer-a-friend page.
Just enter their email address and we'll send your friends an email on your behalf. This email also allows for us to track them as your referral.


How do I earn a free month of service for referring friends?
You will earn a free month of service when your referrals become paying subscribers. This means, your friend meeds the following criteria.
  • Needs to have registered through your personalized referral link or through our refer-a-friend page.
  • Is a paying member. For any new members taking advantage of a trial offer, you'll have to wait until the end of their trial.
