Hi there, I'm Christine, CEO of Gwynnie Bee.                

 

Over a year ago, a few of us came together to start Gwynnie Bee with one core mission: to help the women in our lives and beyond feel amazing about themselves. We wanted to provide a service that would celebrate the awesomeness inside every one of us. And we figured fashion was a perfect way to do it: If we could all feel amazing about ourselves in the morning - every morning - we could move mountains all day.  

 

Growing up as a little girl in rural Pennsylvania, my aunt sewed all of my clothing. Every Monday, I'd get a fresh box of fun clothes to try out for the week. Great clothing, bright prints, matchy-matchy outfits, new styles - you name it, I wore it. My cousin and I would trade outfits and then take them to consignment shops to get money to buy more fabric. I was living in the land of Fashion Heaven. :-)  

 

We were not well off, but looking back, I realize that I really enjoyed two "luxuries" that were fundamental to my relationship with clothing:

  • I was able to continually experiment. I could try out patterns, prints and styles...and discover the things that I loved.
  • My clothes always fit me. Even as I was changing size and shape.

 

Shopping today isn't like that. You have to permanently commit to an item, which limits your ability to experiment with really fun statement pieces, new prints and slightly out-there styles. And you have to go through all of the practical considerations of "how many times will I wear this" and "how often will this just hang in my closet" and "does the cost make sense" and "will this go with the rest of my wardrobe" and "what happens if I change size (either by gaining a few pounds or losing some)." This is a really limiting way to experience and enjoy clothing. And it kind of sucks.


Gwynnie Bee exists to help you celebrate you - to help you discover, experience and enjoy clothing (and, in turn, yourself) in a whole new way. We get up and come to work every day with the goal of making more and more women feel great. Every woman who tells us she rocked a meeting at work, or got so many compliments from her friends during a ladies night out, or made her husband / boyfriend / partner do a double-take, or just felt good about herself motivates and drives us.                           

 

We exist in the service of you, our members. And I wanted to thank you, personally, for joining us and helping to make our service better for you and for the next woman. Every comment you make, every piece of feedback you give...we hear it and we do our best to take action on it. Please keep telling us how to be better and help us shape this company and service into something that works for all of us.

 

If you have thoughts or opinions on what you'd like to see from us, please let me know. It could be about the collection, the referral program, the photographs, the website, the packaging, our customer service...really anything. It's all valuable.
